The Crybaby 535Q is the Swiss Army knife of wah pedals.

It provides control over the most important wah parameters, making it easy for you to create your ultimate wah tone. Select the frequency center of the effect, then dial in the frequency range to be swept by the pedal. From narrow and sharp to broad and subtle, this powerful wah will deliver it. Once you?ve got your sound, make sure it gets heard with the adjustable, switchable boost that can create endless sustain on any note. This is the wah pedal of choice for guitar master Joe Satriani. The 535Q offers versatility never heard before. This pedal allows the player to customize and shape the sound of the wah. By a simple turn of the "Q" dial, you can shape your wah from a narrow, sharp wah to a broad, subtle wah. The CRYBABY 535Q also offers six new guitar wah ranges, a variable boost from 0 to +16 dB and a hard wire on/off switch. It's new custom circuitry consumes less power and eliminates unwanted distortion. Power: Dunlop ECB003 AC Adapter or Single 9 volt battery

I have had the 535Q for about 8 years when I lived in the states and sold it to move here. I had way too much gear. I bought it again because it works so well. You can adjust the frequency range it will sweep through. I keep mine as wide as it will go, from low to high, but you can narrow it down and then fine tune the mid range sound of your guitar, for example, using it as an EQ filter to make your guitar sound a little different, or drastically different. The Edge (U2) used to do that - just put the wah in a certain position and leave it like that for part of the song. The volume boost is a great idea. I like having about 3 options on my pedal board to bring up lead volume, and this would be one. You can also dial in the 'wah' aspect of the wah, like whether you want it to sound vocal or more subdued across the frequency range that you've chosen. So there are a lot of options. I had the standard Dunlop Wah and bought a second one of those when the first one wore out, and those are great as well. If you aren't looking for the extra features, then the standard wah does the wah thing perfectly. The 535Q has the standard wah, then fine tunings to turn it into different flavors, which you could probably do anyway by sweeping less deep on the standard wah and just hit the mid range frequencies. Anyway, I really like Dunlop wahs and have used them for about 25 years. They are great. They will reach a point where the potentiometers get scratchy, and then you've got to throw them out, or change the pot. That happens about every 7 years if you play a lot.

Yes!! Instant fun. Sturdy build. Many great sound settings. Freq, volume, effect range. Very smooth under the foot. The small lateral boost switch is a very subtle addition.
