64 channel Madi from/to AES converter

With the ADI-6432 RME offers a 64-channel MADI from/to AES converter. A typical application is the use of two ADI-6432 as a digital multicore, or as an AES/EBU front end for the Hammerfall DSP MADI PCI card. Up to 192 kHz at 24 bit is supported. At 2 height units, the ADI-6432 offers enough space for all sockets and controls. Of course, the device shines with many typical RME features: - Up to 192 kHz for MADI and AES - Unique status displays for MADI and AES - SteadyClock for maximum jitter suppression and clock refresh - Completely MIDI remote controllable - Transmits MIDI via MADI - Transmits RS232 via MADI The compact device with 19" width and 2U is used for format conversion from MADI to AES and back. MADI offers 64 channels of 24 bit audio at up to 48 kHz sample frequency, 32 channels at up to 96 kHz, and 16 channels at up to 192 kHz . The transmission takes place via a single line, either coaxial (BNC) or via an optical network cable. In both cases, cable lengths of well over 100 meters can be achieved. The AES channels are transmitted via 32 AES/EBU inputs and the same number of outputs on Sub -D sockets provided. The ADI-6432 understands the MADI formats 56 channels, 64 channels as well as 48k and 96k frames at the input, and can also generate these formats at the output? SteadyClock, a digitally controlled hybrid clock developed specifically for MADI, allows operation without an additional word clock line. The reference clock is obtained in the highest quality directly from the MADI signal. RME's SteadyClock guarantees excellent behavior in all clock modes. Due to the efficient jitter suppression, the ADI-6432 can clean and refresh any clock signal - including AES or word clock - and provide it as a reference clock at the word clock output. In addition, an Intelligent Clock Control (ICC) ensures that the sample frequency last recognized as valid is maintained in the event of a failure of the input signal. The ADI-6432 delivers word clock in single, double and quad speed, distributes 96 kHz signals into the MADI data stream using the double wire method, but also handles the double MADI clock (96K frame). The SyncAlign and SyncCheck technologies known and proven from other RME products ensure perfect cross-channel synchronization and easy detection of error conditions. Of course, any number of devices can be cascaded and synchronized precisely using a word clock sample. All settings are saved when turned off. Automatic switching of the MADI input in the event of an error results in useful redundancy operation between optical and coaxial input. Extensive status displays provide information about lock and sync status, included audio information, and the physical quality of the applied signal. On the front, the clear design with a 97 LED sync and audio status display impresses. There are also numerous buttons with detailed LED function displays. The detailed display of the status of all incoming and outgoing signals, even MIDI and RS232, is indispensable, especially for professional use. Errors can therefore be identified at a glance and immediately. A locking function prevents the settings from being accidentally changed (lock keys). Serial/MIDI extender The ADI-6432 transmits 16 MIDI channels invisibly via MADI, with a full 64 channels of audio. The same applies to RS232: regardless of whether it is 9600, 19200 or 115200 baud, thanks to the 9-pin COM port, the ADI-6432 can also work as a serial cable extender without restricting the audio functions. In addition, the ADI-6432 can be completely remote controlled and configured via MIDI. The entire status of the device, including the displays on the front panel, can be queried via MIDI. Each ADI -642 can be given its own ID, so that separate remote control of several devices via just one MIDI channel is possible. The ADI -642 is compatible, among other things, with MADI interfaces from Sony, Merging, Lawo, Euphonix, Stagetec, Jünger, Audio Service and AMS. It offers a fantastic price-performance ratio, not just in a professional environment.
