Of course, sound is always a matter of personal preference, but the original Celestion V-Type speakers in my Marshall Studio Classic SC212 cabinet were too bright/harsh for me. Inspired by a 1936 V, I purchased two Celestion Vintage 30 speakers, and I was quite satisfied with the sound. The cabinet sounds fuller, warmer, and less aggressive with the Vintage 30s. It's definitely a good choice for classic rock. However: the sound remained quite fizzy at higher gain levels on my HK Tubemeister 40 Deluxe. Therefore, I also tried the Celestion G12H-75 Creamback, and I decided to keep those in the cabinet. They are rounder and less aggressive than the Vintage 30s. However, this is likely also due to the Tubemeister. As always, it's the combination of all the components that creates the sound.
Absolutely fantastic sound
