This amp is a great platform for pedals. It has all the needed controls, so you can play it a a bedroom volume and it has great headroom. I can't say that it has great edge of break-up sound, but it has a decent overdrive channel. This amp is very good value for money. However, I do wish that I would've gotten a blues junior instead sometimes as I really don't need the 22 watts, I don't really care much for the overdrive channel or the reverb on this amp, but it would've been nice to get the edge of breakup you get from the Blues Jr. It's absolutely worth the money that it costs, but think hard about what you really need out of an amp before buying
