ES-125: Bad to the Bone, Classic ES-style Hollowbody
The earliest version of the ES-125 thin-line hollowbody first introduced in 1956 and was intended as an entry-level archtop but quickly became a favorite of blues and rock 'n' roll players for its punchy sound and edgy but controllable feedback. The Ltd. Ed. George Thorogood "White Fang" ES-125TDC Outfit has a laminated Maple body with cream binding on the top and back and a custom Bone White finish just like Thorogood's customized original. The Mahogany neck also has a custom profile with a Pau Ferro fingerboard with Pearloid "Dot" inlays, a 24.75" scale length, 1.57" nut, 20 medium frets, and an adjustable truss rod with a bullet-shaped cover. The headstock has the Epiphone logo in dark gold silkprint and a reproduction of Thorogood’s signature is on the back of the headstock in black. A reproduction of Thorogood's Cobra sticker is included and is made from static cling material so the sticker can be applied and easily removed from the guitar. Inside the upper f-hole is a 50's inspired orange oval sound-hole label with the model number and serial number.
Epiphone P-90 PRO™
For his premier signature Epiphone, George Thorogood chose Epiphone's new P-90 PRO™ single coil pickups which follow in the footsteps of Epiphone's critically acclaimed custom made ProBucker™ humbuckers and are made with the same attention to detail, employing key features of the original P-90 design by famed Gibson pickup pioneer Seth Lover. The "White Fang" ES-125TDC comes with two black P-90 PRO™ pickups with Gold Top Hat knobs with Silver Inserts, which control each pickup's Volume and Tone.
Epiphone P-90 PRO™ pickups have 18% Nickel Silver covers, Elektrisola magnet wire, sand-cast Alnico V magnets, and pole shoes manufactured using correct alloys to Gibson's original dimensions. And for you sticklers to detail, the new Epiphone P-90 PRO™ pickups also have tin plated brass base plates like used on 50's and 60's era Gibson P-90 pickups.
Epiphone Hardware
Like all Epiphones, the new Ltd. Ed. George Thorogood "White Fang" ES-125TDC Outfit comes with rock solid hardware including Wilkinson Deluxe "3-in-a-line" machine heads with Ivory buttons, an Epiphone Heavy Duty ¼” Output Jack, a nickel Traditional "Diamond" Trapeze Tailpiece that is secured to the top to reduce feedback (just like George's), and an easily adjustable Pau Ferro Floating bridge. A hand-signed Certificate of Authenticity in a Presentation Binder is included along with a custom Hard Case with an imitation "Snake-Skin" handle.
