Pros - Service was perfect - Once ordered the guitar arrived in a very reasonable time. - All features worked on first test and work well - Guitar sounds wonderful Con - After getting home I noticed that there was a small scuff near the head. Not sure if this occurred while in display at another shop but it did take away the feeling of a new 'out-of-the-box' guitar. Not sure if the demo model on showroom floor is also considered new. (I guess this negative point would not have bothered me if I had been informed that there was no new stock available and that the 1 that was available was a showroom demo. - The pick-guard was already installed and I would have liked to have had the option whether or not I wanted it installed.
This demonstrates that you don't necessarily need to spend a lot of money to have a good guitar. I haven't had the opportunity to compare a Gibson Les Paul and the Epiphone I purchased, but when connected to a good amplifier (a 1964 Fender Vibroverb), the sound is fantastic and the sustain is perfect... The neck is comfortable and the guitar is very well set up from the factory (string height, intonation on the neck) I am very satisfied to have a Les Paul, even though the Gibson logo is not clearly visible on the neck... Ultimately, the sound is all that matters!
