Takes its cues from the original 40-watt model.

The ‘68 Customs have become an extremely popular amp series for guitarists who love classic Fender sounds along with toneful modifications that resonate with today’s players. The ‘68 Custom Pro Reverb™ takes its cues from the original 40-watt model, improving its portability and tonal flexibility by reducing the cabinet size and weight, moving to a single-channel format and single 12” speaker, and adding a middle tone control. This refined and upgraded amp is the perfect size and volume for almost any gig, and may be the ultimate pedal-friendly platform.

Great amp. Lots of clean headroom. Very light weight for a 40watt tube amp. Celestion NeoCreamback sounds great. Played it VERY loud in a VERY big room, using a LUX wireless system, (so I could stand 50 feet away from the amp to protect my ears). Played it for several hours that way and heard no rattling, nor any other sounds other than glorious, clear ‘68 Fender Amp sound. Due to the absence of an effects loop, I use all my effects pedals straight in the front. The amp likes pedals. I run guitar into a Keeley compressor, then a Keeley D&M Drive, lastly an EH Grand Canyon. Those pedals, plus the reverb and tremolo in the amp, cover my sound needs; Bossa N., blues, jazz, rock, prog, bluegrass, boleros, baladas, pop, classical, and any other weird sounds I want to dinker with. Don’t think I’ll ever get a more portable great sound than this amp, a shoebox sized pedalboard, and a Strandberg guitar…
