The COMP-3A is a vintage style single channel compressor/leveler. The signal path uses only discrete components such as resistors, capacitors and transistors. The input and output are transformer balanced, using two different transformers, each optimized for their purpose. The circuit used in the COMP-3A is based on a classic design that uses an electroluminescent panel and a photoelectric cell to control the gain. This gives the COMP-3A a unique, program-dependent compression characteristic. In addition, the vintage-style signal path gives the sound a warm and musical character. Simple operation with just two main controls makes it very easy to achieve the desired sound.
