The K&M standing aid isn't cheap, but ultimately it's just a great product. After trying out various seating options as a guitarist and singer, I ended up with this one. It's simply good, comfortable, and stable. Goodbye to folding chairs, bar stools, and other dubious "standing aids." The extra cost is definitely worth it...
This equipment is exceptional. It's not designed to be beautiful, but I find it aesthetically pleasing. The overall quality is very good. The seat, compared to the stools often found in home bars, has high-quality industrial padding, with a high density, meaning it provides a comfort level comparable to that of a motorcycle seat. My model is hydraulic, but there is also a manual version. In principle, I don't change the height, even when I use it at the kitchen counter to work. However, it can still be useful on occasion. The footrest is attached with screws, so changing the height takes more time; again, I don't change the height. However, what impresses me most is the cleverness with which the ergonomics, which allows for this exceptional comfort, has been designed. K&M has undoubtedly done a lot of research on this. This is a welcome development, as there are so many attractive products on the market that are poorly made. Despite this, I was initially disappointed. Why? Because, being used to playing (jazz/pop) on a chair with a floor-standing footrest under my right foot, I couldn't replicate this posture with the stool. The stool's footrest doesn't raise the right leg enough. The thought of having to change my playing position, even for an hour or two, seemed insurmountable and unrealistic. I had taken a long time to find the other. So, I tried to support my guitar entirely with the strap, without placing it on my right leg, by raising the strap. After a few attempts, miraculously, everything fell into place. The stool allows for a perfect, upright, natural posture for a long time, without fatigue. The guitar's headstock can be positioned very high, as with a classical guitar, without the need to contort yourself for difficult chords or passages. And that, that's a game-changer. (However, I don't think this equipment is suitable for classical guitars, where straps are not used). In short: highly recommended. Thank you to K&M and Musix.
