Problem solver for stereo systems

The SB-6 helps remove noise from two channel audio systems, stereo guitar racks, and pedalboards. Two on-board isolation transformers provide a flat frequency response from 20Hz to 20kHz, while removing hum and buzz from ground loops. Dual ground lift switches help further reduce noise, and a -15dB pad allows you to handle high volume outputs without distortion. When using the SB-6 before a set of powered speakers or guitar amplifiers, a polarity reverse switch corrects frequency cancellation and ensures both speakers play back in phase with one another. The SB-6 is completely passive with no need for power, so it's easy to insert into any system to remove noise quickly.

  • 2x 6.3 mm Jack inputs
  • 2x 6.3 mm Jack outputs

  • Robust metal housing

Exceptionally linear from 20Hz to 20kHz
Automatically configures for hi-Z or lo-Z signal chains
Isolator for balanced and unbalanced signals
Eliminates hum and buzz caused by ground loops
Left Phase reverses the polarity on the left output to help phase-align stereo signals
Pad reduces the input sensitivity by 15dB for louder sources
Input 1/4'' balanced TRS or unbalanced input. The StageBug SB-6 will auto-configure depending on the jack that is used

I was experiencing a loud line hum. I am using Focal Shape 65 monitors in a PC setup. They are connected to an SVSound Sub hi pass output which in turn gets its signal from a U-DAC8 from MiniDSP. This one is connected via USB to my PC. My previous Alesis monitors put out clean sound, but I was looking for a sound quality upgrade. Enter the Focals. The Focals however were more sensitive to noise and put out an intolerable buzz (didn't have that problem with the Alesis). I tried a number of solutions (plugging everything into the same source of electricity, upgrading cables, USB filters, ...) and nothing worked until I happened upon the Radial SB-6. The buzzing was nearly completely eliminated. I still hear a bit if I put my ear up to the tweeter, but buzzing is inaudible at normal listening distance. Now I suppose all you pros know about this, but as a hobbyist keyboard player and music lover I had never heard of Radial. Highly recommended !!!

no mistery here - a box with two isolation transformers and a couple of switches - does what it's supposed to do.
