Handcrafted small membrane capsule Each capsule is handcrafted and individually tailored in the sE factory with great attention to detail. The extremely thin, gold-coated membrane offers impressive transient reproduction and captures even the smallest details. The precisely manufactured electrode has been optimized for maximum linearity and natural reproduction, thereby enabling a very even, balanced frequency response. Precise, frequency-homogeneous directivity Thanks to the sophisticated acoustic design with precision parts, a largely frequency-homogeneous directivity is possible. This avoids sound distortions, especially when recording demanding recordings. The lowest-noise small diaphragm microphone in its class The extremely short signal path, the discrete components and the optimized Class A circuit make the sE8 one of the lowest-noise microphones on the market - and by far the quietest microphone in its class. A novel circuit concept with a transformer-free output stage ensures the outstanding transparency, the enormous dynamic range and the very low distortion. Two stage attenuation filter High flexibility and an extended dynamic range are achieved by the attenuation filter. The two stages prevent overloading of the electronics and the connected microphone preamp or audio interface right at the beginning of the signal chain. This means that even very loud instruments such as brass and snares can be easily miked even in the near field. Two-stage high-pass filter The integrated high pass can be switched between 80Hz and 160Hz to attenuate unwanted rumbling and footstep noises, as well as to dampen the bass boost caused by near-field microphones (proximity effect).
