The Sadowsky SBP-2 Bass Preamp offers bassists the same electronics that has been built into every Sadowsky bass for over 30 years. The preamp pedal is perfect for the use in the effects setup in the front end of the amplifier. The control options are kept simple with Volume, Treble and Bass, Treble and Bass only work as a boost. The SBP-2 Bass Preamp is ideal for upgrading old vintage instruments where you don't want to change the original electronics. The best results are achieved with passive basses or circuits with active pickups, where you can bypass the active electronics. It also works great with all upright bass pickups.

Ist genau das: ein Preamp im Pedal. Jazz Bass Ikone Marcus Miller hat den im Bass eingebaut und damit leider sein schönes Pickguard verhunzt. Das verbitte ich mir doch für meinen wunderschönen Fender MIJ, muss mit diesem Teil aber nicht darauf verzichten, dessen saugeilen Midrange gehörig zu boosten und anzufetten. Hast du einen Aktiven, brauchst sowas natürlich nicht. Aber noch: für maximalen Rauschabstand muss das Volumen voll aufgedreht werden, dann aber am Amp wie bei einem Aktivbass -10 dB gedämpft und dann muss der Effekt halt eingeschaltet bleiben. Gröberer Ärger droht bei Fremdgeräuschen wegen der Stromversorgung, dann gehts nicht ohne Batterie und Schraubenzieher, was ich mit dem Einsatz eines Passivbasses eigentlich vermeiden wollte. Und dann das Kabel immer schön rausziehen nach dem Spielen, sonst ist die Batterie schnell leer. Das Gerät macht einen sehr soliden Eindruck, ist aber auch ein wenig grobschlächtig gefertigt und mit pfriemeliger Stummelschraube fürs Fach derselben versehen. Seis drum; trotzdem geil dann noch zu dem Preis. Darüber gibts vielleicht besseres.
