VINCENT BACH was an Austrian trumpeter who emigrated to the USA at the beginning of the 20th century and made a career there, including in New York. He had very high standards for his playing and his instrument, but could not find mouthpieces that were good enough to achieve his goals. Unwilling to give in to this problem, Bach began to develop his own mouthpieces of unprecedented quality. The musician became a producer of state-of-the-art equipment for wind instruments. Based on this success, the first instruments soon followed, which Vincent Bach designed and manufactured according to his ideas of perfection. With these designs he made a significant contribution to the development of modern brass instruments and set a quality standard by which instrument makers worldwide have to be measured to this day.
