Ich habe mir das Gerät als Ersatzamp gekauft und falls es mal bei einem Notfall zum Einsatz kommt, freue ich mich darauf. Bei der letzten Übungssession habe ich den 44 Magnum Power Amp ausprobiert und den ganzen Abend nicht mehr abgestellt. Normalerweise spiele ich über einen JCM 800. Dort ist der Preamp voll auf und das Master auf max. 2. Den 44 Magnum Power Amp musste ich voll aufdrehen, um das gleiche Volumen wie beim Marshall zu erreichen. Dann kracht es aber ordentlich.

Das Gerät hat nur einen Bright/Normal Schalter und Volumen als Einstellungsmöglichkeiten. Pedale mit denen sich der Sound noch etwas formen lässt sind zu empfehlen. Der 44 Magnum Power Amp kann hervorragend mit Effekten umgehen. Overdrive, Distortion, Fuzz aber auch Octaver, Phaser, Tremolo und Hall haben bei mir super getönt.

Sound und Lautstärke sind natürlich abhängig von der Boxe, die man dranhängt. Trotzdem denke ich, dass jemand der einen lauten unverzerrten Ton à la Fender sucht, nicht glücklich wird mit Gerät. Aber alleine der Name 44 Magnum Power Amp suggeriert ja, dass es sich dabei um eine Rock-Maschine handelt.

Ein negativer Punkt: Wenn man so wie ich voll aufdreht, entsteht Brumm, und zwar viel mehr als ich über meinen Marshall habe. Das mitgelieferte Netzteil sieht billig aus und könnte die Ursache sein. Vielleicht finde ich da besseren Ersatz (sieht nach Laptop Netzteil aus).
