Beschreibung
The Radial SGI studio guitar interface allows a guitar signal to travel 100 meters (328 feet) over a standard balanced XLR mic cable. This enables the guitarist to play through a distant amplifier while listening to the performance in the control room. On large stages, the SGI allows a guitar signal to travel from the wireless system to a pedal board and amplifier. The SGI employs a proprietary drive and balancing circuit that is made up of two modules: the SGI-TX transmit module and SGI-RX receive module. The SGI-TX is active with 100% discreet class-A circuitry and Drag control load correction to ensure the most natural sound. The SGI-RX is completely passive. To eliminate hum and buzz caused by ground loops, each module is equipped with isolation transformers that are wired in opposing directions to counteract any artifact. Best of all, the SGI is plug & play easy to use and comes equipped with power supply.

SGI Features
The Radial SGI is made up of two modules: The SGI TX transmitter and the SGI RX receiver. These are connected using standard balanced twisted pair cable, thus enabling the SGI to be used in any studio or stage environment. Both are made from 14 gauge steel using Radial's unique I-Beam construction and protective book-end design. This ensures the Radial SGI will continue working for years even when tossed around in adverse conditions. A full-bottom rubberized pad has plenty of 'stay' while providing both mechanical and electrical isolation while providing a protective barrier that will not scratch your Pro-Control.
The SGI-TX Transmitter Module: When using the SGI, the guitar connects to the SGI TX transmitter. This is a 100% discreet class-A active driver that employs the same front end and circuit topology found inside the popular Radial JD7 Injector. Class-A circuits are the preferred choice o audiophiles as they retain the natural characteristics of the instrument by eliminating zero-cross distortion which in turn reduces harmonic distortion, inter-modulation distortion and phase shift. To counter any effect of the circuitry, the SGI is equipped with Drag Control, our innovative load correction circuit that reintroduces the natural relationship between the guitar and amplifier that would otherwise be lost. Power is supplied by a 15VDC external supply for added headroom over 9V systems. Both transmit and receive modules are equipped with isolation transformers to eliminate buzz and hum caused by ground loops.
The Radial SGI-RX Receiver Module: When in use, the amplifier is connected at the receive end using the SGI RX. This module is completely passive thereby not requiring local power. The transformer receives the signal and is wired 'in reverse' to counteract any ringing that may be induced at the input side. Smart. This also eliminates ground loops, a common problem when connecting equipment using different electrical circuits.
Using the SGI
The SGI is truly plug & play easy to use. The unity gain circuit simply relays the input level to the output for a natural tone.
To use the SGI, start by making sure the guitar amplifier is off. Connect the SGI TX and RX modules together using a standard XLR cable. Connect the DC supply to the SGI and the LED on the front panel will illuminate to show power is present. Connect the guitar and amplifier, turn the amp on and play.
For best results, we suggest that you start with a clean tone and set the Drag Control to 50% or 12 o'clock and then adjust to suit. More drag will result in a darker tone, while less drag will reduce the load on the pick-up and add sparkle.
