Description
The patented Dualdyne technology only shows marginal proximity effects and off-axis sound colouration.
Where is the KSM8 used?
The KSM8 Dualdyne Vocal Microphone sets a milestone in dynamic microphone technology for artists and engineers. The KSM8 has only marginal proximity effects and enables unrivaled voice reproduction and accurate sound. It was developed for large and complex PA applications. Thanks to its enormous clarity, the KSM8 is ideal for studios, live performances or broadcast.
What makes the KSM8 so unique?
Due to the second, passive membrane, the KSM8 offers a very large sweet spot and marginal proximity effects. Together with the neutral mids and highs, the result is a consistent, natural vocal reproduction, regardless of the artist's mic technique.
What is the difference between Unidyne III and Dualdyne?
The Unidyne III capsule (e.g. SM57/SM58) has only one diaphragm with a pneumatic shock absorber. The advantages of the Dualdyne technology are based on the second, additional membrane. The Dualdyne capsule structure consists of two extremely thin membranes - one active, one passive - and an inverted airflow system.
