With four tracks, 32-bit float recording, enhanced X/Y microphones and two XLR/TRS inputs, creatives have more options for recording their music, podcasts and audio-for-video. HIGHER DYNAMIC RANGE With 32-bit float recording, the H4essential achieves an even higher dynamic range, thanks to which you can record audio signals without distortion and in perfect quality at all times. THE FIRST ACCESSIBLE RECORDER The Essential series was developed to be barrier-free for visually impaired people. When navigating the menu, acoustic instructions are given via the integrated loudspeaker or headphones. Creatives can choose between English, Spanish, French, Japanese, German, Italian and Chinese. SOUND PRESSURE LEVEL The two XLR/TRS combo inputs feature Zoom's particularly clean preamps, while the integrated X/Y microphones can handle extreme sound pressure levels of up to 130 dB, which is equivalent to a rock concert. MIX. LISTEN. TO RECORD. The built-in mixer makes it easy to adjust the audio level of each track. A waveform display is also available so you can see the audio signal while recording. POWERFUL STAGE SOUND FOR MUSICIANS The H4essential is perfect for recording music. With two XLR/TRS inputs and the X/Y stereo microphone, you can easily record live performances, rehearsals and songs. LOCATION SOUND The XLR inputs can be used to record dialogue on set and audio for sound design. The built-in X/Y microphones are perfect for recording ambient noise. FOR INTERVIEWS AND PODCASTS Podcasters can connect external microphones to the H4essential's XLR inputs for in-studio conversations, while using the X/Y microphones for on-the-go interviews. PAIRING WITH AN iOS DEVICE Using the BTA-1* Bluetooth adapter, you can pair with your iOS device to remotely start recording, adjust the mix, display waveforms, and change other settings. TIMECODE SYNC VIA BLUETOOTH The BTA-1* Bluetooth adapter also allows you to pair with Bluetooth-enabled timecode devices for audio and video synchronization. *Please note: The BTA-1 adapter is not included SOFT TOUCH CONTROLS For even quieter operation and to minimize hand noise, the recording and encoder controls have been redesigned. INTERNAL SPEAKER To quickly check your recordings, you can listen to them via the internal speaker. INPUTS AND EXITS Use the 3.5mm line output for headphones and connection to a camera. The H4essential also offers a 3.5mm microphone/line input. BRILLIANT COLOR DISPLAY The new, vibrant full-color LCD screen makes it easy to navigate the H4essential's menu and functions. RECORD AND STREAM Stream with 32-bit float and record to SD card at the same time. Once connected to a computer or mobile device, the H4essential can be used as an audio interface with two inputs and two outputs.
