This update must be downloaded to ensure full functionality, allowing you to control everything from your iPhone, including turning it off, which can be a bit cumbersome without an app. Regarding the electric guitar, it's generally not recommended to mount it on the picking hand, as it can interfere with the pickups. For me, the best option is to wear it on my leg, ideally against the shin, as this allows you to feel the vibrations most effectively. A major advantage is the ability to play silently, which takes some time to get used to, as you need to adapt to using vibrations as a metronome rather than an acoustic signal. However, it works quite well after a short period. I would say that without the app, the Pulse would be almost unusable (I haven't been able to turn it off without the app yet), and it also doesn't allow you to see the exact tempo.
