Hagström used to be a Swedish manufacturer of musical instruments. The company first distinguished itself in the production of accordions, then, from 1958 onwards, gradually moved into the manufacturing of electric guitars, an activity in which it became one of Europe's leading makers, and also one of the most innovative. From mass production in the 1960's, it evolved towards high quality manufacturing in the 1970's before having to cease its activity in 1983.

The brand was re-launched in 2006 in North America at the initiative of the Canadian firm American Music & Sound (AMS), and markets guitars and basses now made in China.

Based on the Concord model from Hagstrom's founding years, the Hagstrom Viking Bass returns as a modernized reincarnation of an all-time classic. The immaculately crafted semi-hollow woofer offers very flexible features with its short scale length (30.75" / 781 mm), the special "vintage-voiced" Dyna Rail humbuckers and the sophisticated circuitry, which can be selected using a 6-way rotary switch Sounds predestined for 60's beats from the Fab Four and the Stones to modern day New Britrock/-Pop.
