Electric and Acoustic Tones The PRS SE Custom 24 Semi-Hollow Piezo is a sophisticated and incredibly versatile instrument. The Custom 24 is a solid body guitar with a maple top, mahogany back, two humbuckers and the patented PRS tremolo. It is the original PRS design introduced in 1985. This semi-hollow version offers a natural resonance and a lively, organic tone. The humbuckers in this model are PRS 85/15 "S" pickups, which can be tapped for additional sounds via the push/pull tone control. Push/pull tone control can be tapped for additional sounds. The inclusion of the LR Baggs/PRS Piezo system increases the versatility of the instrument by offering electric and acoustic sounds in one guitar. The PRS SE Custom 24 Semi-Hollow Piezo is equipped with two discrete volume controls (Magnetics and Piezo) and output jacks (Mix/Piezo and Magnetics). The player can plug in the "Mix/Piezo" jack and use the individual volume controls to mix the 85/15 "S" pickups with the acoustic piezo tones. Alternatively, players can also use the "Mix/Piezo" jack to connect the guitar to the soundboard with the magnetic pickups plugged into an amp and the piezos plugged into a piezo via an acoustic amp or DI. Using the magnetic output jack bypasses the piezo battery entirely and acts as a fail-safe (in this scenario, the magnetic pickups will still work even if the piezo battery runs out of juice). Other details include matching headstock veneer, headstock and fingerboard binding, and lampshade knobs.
