Variants
A course for soprano recorder with 2 CDs for children from the first to second school years.
The teaching material is treated on 4 parallel levels, which make learning colorful and varied:
- Game pieces
- Improvisations
- Technical exercises
- Theory and knowledge of notes
1. Game pieces
- Compositions by Daniel Hellbach
- Folk songs from around 20 countries
- Classic pieces
- Pop/Rock songs
The focus of the second volume is folk songs from around 20 countries, as well as compositions by Daniel Hellbach as well as classical pieces (e.g. "Freude schöner Götterfunken") and pop/rock songs (e.g. "Lady Madonna"). by The Beatles). Some of them are set in two voices.
2. Improvisations
A special feature of the Recorder Box are the improvisations, which run like a common thread through the entire course and begin in the first lessons. In this way, what has been learned is deepened in a playful and creative way.
In the second volume, the tones used for improvisation are presented in musical notation. These are excerpts from different scales that create a certain mood or are reminiscent of typical patterns of a musical style:
- Blues scale
- Gypsy minor
- Gypsy major
- Pentatonic: Western
- Pentatonic scale: Chinese
- Spanish
3. Technical exercises
Technical exercises are interspersed at regular intervals, which are referred to as "training" be referred to.
In the second volume, the exercises are written down in musical notation. The main training here is scales (excerpts) and triad breaks, but also new tones and fingering connections.
There are no limits to the teacher's imagination in these training sessions; the specified fingering connections, scales or triad breaks can, for example, be trained with different articulations or rhythmically. This novel concept also allows the practice of fingering connections that the children cannot yet read as musical text (e.g. right hand from the beginning). .
4. Theory and knowledge of grades
Fingering and note knowledge can be tested on the “Note Quiz”. The designated pages can be deepened and checked. The student completes these tasks in writing.
Group lessons
These grade quizzes can be a welcome opportunity in group lessons to work individually with one child while the others solve the quiz.
The second volume also includes the simplest ear training exercises: e.g. recognizing the interval “octave”. starting with an audio example on the CD
