Nickel-Plated Steel wound strings were introduced in the late Sixties and have become the most popular alloy for electric guitars and bass. Nickel-plated steel tends to offer the most balanced tone. It took several years of trial and error to develop a proprietary string coating that resists tarnish and corrosion without compromising tonal quality.

They feel and sound great. I use them for drop F and G standard with an 28' scale length. I will buy them again.
For slide guitars, this is my preferred thickness. It provides a balanced feel, neither too thick nor too thin. As always, the best way to find out is to try it out.
