The new 50s J-45 Original model flaunts vintage-inspired detailing from the golden era of Gibson. Classic “Workhorse” materials include a Sitka Spruce top and Select Mahogany back and sides. The multi-ply top and single-ply back binding are subtly antiqued making each instrument look just like a seasoned Gibson acoustic. Appointed with cream button tuners, a 50s-era tortoise pick guard, and upgraded with an LR Baggs® VTC pickup for the best and most natural-sounding tone when amplified.

Die J-45 gilt als 'American Workhorse' der akustischen Gitarren. Ihr Sound ist extrem ausgewogen und songdienlich. Das Halsprofil wird in vielen Reviews als 'chunky' beschrieben. Ich selber mag Slim taper Necks, habe mich aber sofort zuhause gefühlt. Chunky vielleicht; aber auf die gute Art. Fretends sind tip top verarbeitet. Das Nitro-Finish weiss zu überzeugen. Die Vintage-Style Mechaniken verrichten ihren Job wie es sein sollte. Auch der Sattel ist sauber gefeilt. Alles in allem eine tolle Verarbeitung... wenn da nicht beim Verleimen des Sattels ein wenig 'gepfuscht' wurde und man an der linken Seite des Sattels locker eine Visitenkarte runterschieben könnte. Mein Gitarrenbauer hat das gefixt und nun bin ich rundum zufrieden mit meiner J-45. Zum modernen Touch: Das Pickup-System LR Baggs VTC macht einen erstaunlich guten Job. Auch für Aufnahmen, kann man so das DI-Signal super im Mix integrieren. Der hochwertige (und sehr schwere) Koffer darf auch positiv erwähnt werden.

Ein Klassiker mit einem modernen Touch

Dieser Moment, als ich die Gitarre das erste Mal anspielte... unbeschreiblich. Mit Abstand die am besten klingende Akustikgitarre, die ich je gespielt oder besessen habe. Voller, satter Klang, und eine Spielbarkeit, die ihresgleichen sucht. Diese Gitarre ist zurecht _der_ Standard.
