Im August 1923 gründete der deutsche Einwanderer Alfred Hering die Firma "Gaitas Alfred Hering Company" in Blumenau im Süden Brasiliens. Die Produktion umfasste Mundharmonikas und Akkordeons die schon damals weltweit höchste Anerkennung bei den Musikern fand.

Mitte 1960 übernahm die Firma Hohner aus Deutschland die Fabrikation in Blumenau und konzentrierte sich nebst der Produktion von Mundharmonikas immer mehr auch auf die Herstellung von Spielzeugen aus Kunststoff.

Die Wende kam 1996 als der aus Italien stammende Alberto Bertolazzi Hering übernahm und sich wieder ausschliesslich auf die Herstellung von qualitativ hochstehenden Mundharmonikas konzentrierte. Forschung und Weiterentwicklung der Modelle wurde damals wie heute auf höchstem Niveau vorangetrieben.

Nach über 80jähriger Firmengeschichte ist HERING heute der führende Mundharmonika-Hersteller welcher das gesamte Lieferprogramm im eigenen Werk in Blumenau produziert.
Der beste Beweis für die herausragende Qualität im internationalen Vergleich sind die unzähligen Musiker die heute auf HERING Mundharmonikas vertrauen.
