Single ended

The LIONHEART L5T-112 is proudly designed and built in the UK. It's a 5 watt, single-ended, Class 'A' all-tube combo that offers a wide range of clean, crisp, dynamic and open guitar sounds. Because the L5T-112 puts less emphasis on preamp distortion, you can hear more of you, the player, and your guitar, and feel the power amp tubes clipping, resulting in much richer overtone content and greater dynamic range than many other amps. No matter what genre you are in, play through a LIONHEART and you will be amazed at how it reacts to your style of play.

Replacement for a broken but loved original, I had to buy another one because there is nothing else I have tried with such pure tone. The parallel effects can be bypassed to give a volume and tone boost. Use an ABY switch and the variety of options is doubled. I converted the previous one to a series effects loop with no issues. The unit is very loud, and the speaker when broken in suits the design beautifully. the cabinet is very sturdy, and needs to be because the volume you can get from this will shake components loose after a while, this is what happened to the last one. Disappointingly, the circuit board in not as sturdy as the advertising would have you believe, and maintenance options is Switzerland are virtually zero. The pots are the cheap ones, and they serve as the support for the main board. If something goes wrong, be prepared to write off your money, unless you have a lot of patience, skill and a soldering iron. Handle will disintegrate after a while, and the tolex on the early models is not perfect. Buy it for the sound, not the looks. There are no bad tones no matter how it is set.

I bought this amplifier about 1-year ago, and I'm really pleased with it. I have owned many tube amplifiers in the last 20 years, but this one is really amazing for that price. The speaker (12' Celestion Heritage G12H) is great, there is a standby-switch, the effect loop works very well (don't listen to people on other forums saying that it does not work ... it WORKS just fine), the tubes are protected by tune-guards, and there is a footswitch with a very long cable. The clean channel is very nice and has a bright-switch to make it sound more dynamic. The crunch channel is really great, with just a bit of drive it sounds just amazing. This amp is just great, I use it mostly for rock but it would be also great for blues. Probably not for metal.
