As the latest model in the successful and critically acclaimed Studio series, the ST20C combo is tailored precisely to the needs of today's musicians. At the same time, the amp, built in the legendary British Marshall factory, reproduces the classic sound for which amplifiers became world famous in the early sixties: the perfect mix of clean and crunch, with plenty of attack, warm overdrive and natural compression - all of which ensures an incomparable experience organic and natural interaction between guitarist, instrument and amplifier. Like the original 30-watt combo, the JTM Studio Combo is equipped with two ECC83 preamp tubes, two 5881 power tubes and an ECC83 phase splitter. But as today's demands on amps require, the amp is a lot quieter with 20 watts of output power - and it can also be throttled down to 5 watts. Just like the original, two volume controls allow you to tease out the perfect sweet spot from the two differently voiced channels (patch cable method). Functions such as a DI output and an FX loop (both found for the first time in a JTM-style amp from Marshall ) round off Marshall's modern, but always tradition-conscious approach. This makes the amp perfect for today's live and studio applications. With the equally popular Creamback speakers from Celestion, the ST20C combo is perfectly equipped to deliver the most classic of all Marshall sounds, lively and tight as well as clear and velvety. As with all UK-made Marshall amps, the JTM Studio Combo is hand-built from the finest materials by long-standing, experienced staff in Bletchley, Milton Keynes. The chassis are hand-welded, the pots and tube bases are hand-soldered. The amps are now again manufactured with the classic Coffin logo cast in red enamel, as well as the authentic styling.
