They produce a harmonious sound with slightly more high-pitched notes, similar to standard nickel-wound strings, and remain stable in tune for a long time. However, they are harder than strings and require more effort to play. After a certain point, they quickly lose their tonal brightness, although much later than phosphor bronze, but I don't find the extra cost over Martin's standard retro nickel strings to be worth it.
