In 1969, Maxon became an effects pedal manufacturer, primarily as a producer of OEM products for other companies. During the 1970s Ibanez became one of the company's main OEM customers. Maxon designed and manufactured the now legendary TS-808 and TS9 Tube Screamers for Ibanez, and many other models, including the FL9 Flanger, CS9 Chorus, and AD9 Analog Delay. The brand also marketed its pedals under its own Maxon name during this time. When Ibanez parted away in 2002, Maxon began to more aggressively market its own line of pedals. Repositioning itself as a manufacturer of high-end mass-produced effects, Maxon expanded its line of analog pedals, using rare NOS components and classic circuit designs that are to this day highly respected and sought after. The company prides itself on a reputation of quality over quantity.

The OD808 is still the most used and copied conception today, because of its unique tone.
It provides the same smooth natural overdrive as a tube amp, without altering the original tone of your guitar.

Für mich eigentlich nur als Booster brauchbar. z.B. wenn man einen Marshall noch den Rest geben möchte.

Gut als heavy Booster

Maxon ha prodotto per Ibanez il mitico TS-808 per anni.
Per curiosità ho voluto acquistare il Maxon 'a scatola chiusa' nonostante avessi già l'Ibanez. Beh, non mi sono pentito. Certo, sei hai l'Ibanez, meglio se quello d'annata, non ha molto senso acquistare il Maxon, altrimenti vai a colpo sicuro. Il vantaggio del Maxon è l'interruttore on/off, meno dolce dell'Ibanez ma, sicuramente moooolto più robusto. Esteticamente preferisco il Maxon ma questa é una questione di gusti personali. In una pedaliera questo scatolotto non deve mancare!
