Good quality and sound. Actually not hard on the fingers as expected.

Bass strings

I've been trying to get the sound of Jaco Pastorius with my bass guitar for some time. I did all the necessary steps to find the sound and finally got this string to get exactly what I wanted. They sound bright and growly, but they're not really good for slapping.

Jaco's strings

Es gibt heute kaum noch schlechte Saiten auf dem Markt. An diesen Rotos liebe ich diesen 'Klaviersound', die straffe Spannung und die Höhen (vor allem bei Bässen mit dicken Humbuckern). Empfehlung für Precisions und Stingrays.

Meine standart Roundwound Saiten

Given that Rotosound produces excellent long-scale strings, I was expecting a high-quality short-scale set, but these strings are actually quite poor. Specifically, the low strings have a lot of unpleasant overtones, and the feel is not very good. In short, it's better to invest in D'Addario if you're looking for stainless steel strings for short scales.

Could do better

Étant donné que Rotosound produisent des superbes cordes long-scale, je m'attendais à un set short-scale de qualité mais il s'avère que ces cordes sont plutôt médiocres. En effet, les cordes graves ont énormément d'overtones désagréables et la sensation de jeu n'est pas terrible. Bref, il vaut mieux investir dans des D'Addario si vous recherchez des Stainless Steel pour Short Scale.

Peut faire mieux

Simple - C'est le son de Nate Phillips sur Glide du groupe Pleasure - Bref, de la tuerie! Punch monstrueux.

Roto Sound Swing Bass

Ottime per basso da studio, il suono é nella media.

Corde Basso

Obwohl Roto Sound gemeinhin nur gute Bewertungen erhält habe ich hier Kritikpunkte. Die Seiten fühlen sich sehr rau an. Dies sogar im vergleich zu Kobalt seiten, wo das oft moniert wird. Der Sound war ob aber ich wurde mit der Haptik dieser Saiten einfach nicht warm.

Roto Sound Swing Bass 66

Stainless Steel or Nickel Roundwound
The string that started a revolution and brought the bass player from the back line to the front.

This is the string that James How and John Entwistle perfected into what was to become the industry standard. The bright punchy high energy sound this string offered and so much a big part of early rock music as we know it, quickly grew in popularity to all four corners of the globe and remains the leading contender to this present day.

"It was in 1966 and I was looking for that Danelectro sound again. I tried everybody's strings but the E and the A's just didn't work. It was the same with Rotosound but there was something about them that was almost there but not quite. To solve the problem I got in touch with James How and told him his D and G strings were great but the E and A didn't vibrate properly.

He told me to take my bass along to Rotosound and have some strings made until they got it right. After a couple of hours, we realised that the problem wasn't in the wire winding, but in the core of the string. You could see that the strings vibrated in a big circle and that was wrong; the core needed to be thicker.

We also made the overall gauges a bit heavier and they sent me away with 12 sets to use. A couple of days later they called and asked if I objected to them putting my name to the strings and selling them commercially. I told them I didn't mind as long as they kept me supplied with free strings!

But then we had to do the same with medium and short scale strings because I had loads of different basses by then. Those strings, the RS 66 sets, were the first that vibrated properly other than the Danelectros."
