While with monophonic Aftertouch the modulation affects all tones played equally, polyphonic Aftertouch offers targeted, individual control of individual notes. For example, the behavior of the envelopes or the pitch of the oscillators can be modulated very sensitively, offering the player completely new possibilities for expression. The internal flash storage has also been expanded. The Quantum MK2 now has 59GB available for sample management. The flexibility that comes from Quantum's powerful oscillators and how they interact with each other is simply breathtaking. It has never been possible to produce such a wide range of sounds with a synthesizer. It ranges from classic analog sounds with precise sample playback to harsh or animated digital sounds to sound and sequence clusters that are otherwise only possible with large modular synthesizer systems or modern plug-ins. The 3 oscillators each offer five forms of synthesis: - The typical Waldorf wavetables supplemented by the strengths of our Nave synthesizer: speech synthesis and the creation of wavetables from external audio sources - Classic synthesizer waveforms with up to 8 detuned and chordal copies for ultra-fat sounds directly from the oscillator - Granular sampler with multi-sampling and traditional sampling mode - Resonator filter bank with multi-sampling or click/noise exciter for novel and intuitive sound design - New kernel synthesis with up to six kernel operators per oscillator for phase FM, true FM and wavetable positions -Modulation Quantum's ergonomic and intuitive control panel supports an artist's workflow with unprecedented elegance. The carefully chosen arrangement of aluminum potentiometers and encoders frame a high-resolution multi-touch display. The Waldorf placed particular emphasis on perfecting the interaction between the display and the physical controls. In order to clarify the functional connections between the individual controllers, all important controllers are individually illuminated by a multi-colored LED. With complex settings and modulation assignments, it is immediately clear where parameters can be adjusted quickly and efficiently. Using the central touch display, precise settings can be made with ease, similar to using a modern computer tablet. Quantum was designed and developed by our dedicated team in Germany. All essential components are manufactured here in Germany and assembled in Italy. This allows us to produce Quantum with unparalleled build quality. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank a number of world-class sound designers who contributed to a diverse factory sound set: Richard Devine, Howard Scarr, Reinhold Heil, BT, Matt Johnson, Joerg Huettner, Kevin Schroeder, Sascha Dikiciyan , Kurt Ader, Mike Huckaby, Thorsten Quaeschning and many more
