The CP73 and CP88 models each offer three premium concert grand pianos: the Yamaha CFX, the Yamaha S700 and the Bösendorfer Imperial 290. These grand piano sounds develop their nuanced and dynamic response due to the most careful recording process and an excellent mood. [CFX] With over 17 years of development, the Yamaha CFX is our flagship in the field of 9 'concert grand pianos. The CFX offers radiant highs as well as powerful bass paired with impressive dynamics and the ability to make yourself heard in an orchestra group. [Bösendorfer] The manufacturer Bösendorfer is one of the most unique piano manufacturers in the world and is still committed to both the craft and the Viennese design tradition. The colorful Viennese sound is based on the one hand on the finely tuned and warm-sounding bass as well as its singing highs. The almost 2.90 meter long and 8 octave Imperial 290 is the highlight among the Bösendorfer concert grand pianos. Its extended bass range and the huge soundboard develop a very special resonance behavior in which all frequencies find the right amount of support. [S700] The Yamaha S700, handcrafted by master piano builders, is a special kind of grand piano. On the one hand, it has the skill to assert itself clearly in complex arrangements, but on the other hand, it also has the sensitivity to develop the necessary delicacy and expressiveness in solo passages or smaller setups. The sound of the S700 turned out to be one of the most popular grand piano sounds of the S90ES and S90 stage synthesizers for a reason.
[U1] The U1 is one of the most popular upright pianos in the world. The U1 timbre of the CP73 and CP88 models is based on a selected vintage specimen with a perfectly coordinated character. This characteristic predestines the sound for any style of music that not only requires the right vibe, but also the sound of an authentic upright. [SU7] The SU7 represents Yamaha's flagship acoustic upright piano. This model gets its rich and expansive sound from the concert grand piano hammer mechanism borrowed from the CFX.
[Yamaha CP80] Yamaha introduced its electrically amplified grand piano models CP80 and CP70 in 1978 in order to give musicians a stable grand piano sound that was also able to assert itself live within a band. [78 Rd] The tine-based 78 Rd electric piano has a wide dynamic range, high sound quality and works well with classic effects. A real universal instrument for a wide range of different styles. [75 Rd] The 75 Rd offers a much dirtier E-PIano sound with a good dose of funk, which is why it is perfect for music styles that demand a very special vibe and character. [73 Rd] With its fat and warm vintage sound, the 73 Rd is the ideal electric piano accompaniment for ballads and expressive solo singing. [Wr] The reed-based Wr electric piano offers both modern and vintage vocal colors with large-scale dynamics. Organs, clavi and keyboards: The CP73 and CP88 models also offer a wide range of other keyboard sounds, such as tonewheel and transistor organs, clavi, FM pianos and many more for every conceivable situation.
The CP73 and CP88 models have synthesizer sounds ready for every imaginable live situation. In addition, the two stage pianos offer warm sounding pad sounds, opulent strings, fundamental synth basses, lead and brass sounds as well as many other sounds for split, layer and solo applications. The intuitive user guidance of the CPs also allows comfortable real-time parameter control and interaction for great and spontaneous sound creations.
The CP73 as well as the CP88 offer an extraordinary range of integrated effects, which underline the unmistakable sound of the instruments and expand them individually. Each of the three integrated sections (piano, electric piano, sub) also offers effects specially tailored to the respective needs. Master effect chains with delay, reverb and EQ as well as special controllers for real-time parameter control are also available.
Virtual Circuitry Modeling simulates the sound and behavior of vintage effects as well as high-end studio signal processors through exact circuit modeling of the originally analog components.
The CP73 has a newly designed 73-key keyboard with a weighted hammer mechanism, which has been specially tailored to the feel of an authentic electric piano. Its "E-to-E" keyboard is also perfect for playing with guitarists and bassists in a band. Their balanced playability also makes them ideal for a wide range of different sounds, from acoustic pianos and organs to synthesizers. Its low weight and compactness make the CP73 with its weighted 73-key hammer action keyboard the ideal companion in any stage or studio setup.
