With the active HS monitor speakers, Yamaha is building on the success of the legendary NS10M studio monitors. When choosing a reference monitor for mixing and music production, precision and accuracy are paramount. Speakers that sound good on first impression are not necessarily precise. What you really need is an honest reference and an objective sound impression of your mix, rather than a monitor whose sound is discolored and which gives a completely different impression of your mix. The new HS series reference monitors have been developed by Yamaha's team of Studio Monitor specialists to achieve linear and unadulterated playback that you can rely on. The HS series was therefore designed as a studio monitor in the tradition of the legendary Yamaha NS10M. Portable, handy monitoring for your audio workstation All you need for top-class production for a stereo mix is a good audio workstation and a couple of HS speakers. A system like this is not only portable and easy to wire, it also gives you the outstanding performance you need for a great mix. The adjustable playback behavior of the HS50M, for example, enables the monitors to be trimmed precisely in order to adapt them perfectly to your playback conditions. Professional Surround Production Although stereo is still the most common format for enjoying music, 5.1 Surround is the standard format in the field of modern visual media and is also gaining more and more importance in the field of pure music production. However, in order to create a 5.1 surround mix, a good 5.1 monitor system is essential. The HS series loudspeakers and subwoofers are the perfect choice when it comes to a properly coordinated 5.1 system without having to invest huge sums in a complete studio. Simply combine five HS50M or HS80M with one or more HS10W subwoofers and you are ready to start producing state-of-the-art surround sound. Optimal reproduction for every room The reproduction and sound behavior of a loudspeaker can vary greatly depending on the size, shape and nature of the room. How and where the loudspeakers are set up also has a major influence on the sound behavior. The HS50M and HS80M therefore offer the option of using special room controls to adapt the loudspeaker precisely to the listening conditions. The Room Control Switch compensates for the unnatural increase in low frequencies, for example, if the monitor loudspeaker is placed close to a wall or in a corner.
