The NP Series name "Piaggero" combines "piano" with the word "leggero", a musical term meaning "light". As the name suggests, the NP-35 is extremely lightweight, even for a portable keyboard, so you can take it anywhere. Indoors, outdoors, or traveling, just take it to your favorite places to practice.
Powerful, dynamic sound
Yamaha's acoustic technology gives the Piaggero a powerful sound - a sound that, despite its compact size, includes dynamic, grand piano-like bass and extraordinarily brilliant treble. The Piaggero reproduces the sound of the CFIIIS Yamaha concert grand piano. The sound was sampled from a grand piano with a clear, transparent tone, spacious treble and solid tonal character. The NP-35 features a larger amplifier than the NP -15, providing more powerful bass and higher overall volume.

By matching the strength of your keystrokes with the softer weighting, the Piaggero's sound changes with absolute realism, allowing you to enjoy an expressiveness close to that of an acoustic piano. As with conventional pianos, the keyboard of the NP-35 is heavier in the bass range and lighter in the treble range (Graded Soft Touch).
