The XSonic Airstep Lite is a simplified version of the standard Airstep controller. All wired control interfaces are removed, including the traditional MIDI interface, relay footswitch output interface, USB interface, and expression pedal interface - only the Bluetooth communication interface is retained. The Airstep Lite is mainly used for wireless control. It can work in 2 modes: stand-alone mode and wireless external footswitch mode. In stand-alone mode, the Airstep Lite Bluetooth connects to mobile phones, tablets, and computers to send MIDI messages and HID messages which is perfect to control your DAW software, effect apps or even or music scores or video playback. In the wireless external footswitch mode, the Airstep Lite connects to the Airstep as main unit as a wireless external footswitch extension. In this mode, all control messages are sent from the main Airstep, and the Airstep Lite is only used as a wireless extension.

August 11, 2022: If you are looking for a Bluetooth pedal that can control the Katana Air amp, here is some clarification: When switching from the Airstep BW's Crunch sound (in mode 2) to clean on the Katana Air, the Xsonic Airstep BW takes up to 1 second to switch, which I personally find too long! Although the Airstep update app runs stably on Android, the update rarely succeeds! I can only recommend the Airstep BW if you are willing to accept that the switching time will now be 1 second when switching to the clean channel on the Katana Air. The problem lies with the Xsonic Airstep BW Bluetooth controller pedal, not the amp. * I hope that the Xsonic manufacturer can fix this issue in the next update. Besides this latency issue, the Airstep BW is very good! Something to know: The Boss Katana Librarian app does not support the Katana Air. This would be interesting if you wanted to create your own modes with the Airstep BW. And of course, it would be great if Roland-Boss added the Katana Air to the list, but that's not the case at the moment!
