If you're not a collector of attractive stompboxes and still want to have a wide range of effects at your disposal, then the HX One is a real treasure trove. In particular, for sound tinkerers and musicians who don't want to spend all their time glued to their screens, this black, somewhat unattractive Line6 box is a true goldmine. And wow – the sounds sound consistently good, stereo, and powerful. Even for me, who was previously skeptical about digital distortion, everything is here – and even in really great quality. There are plenty of modulation, delay, reverb, and spatial effects. Negative: The small display has been cut back on, and I miss a function to mark favorite sounds – a little star or something similar would be great. I now have them written down on a piece of paper, because, honestly: With seemingly 1000 effects, searching can take a while. It also annoys me that, apparently, a special Line6 expression pedal is needed for Line6 users – others don't seem to work. That's just Line6. I've never been particularly fond of the company, and I still don't find their hardware particularly appealing. Since the red "kidney," not much has changed. However (again, positively), the sound is now worlds better than it was before – and I'm glad I have an HX One effects pedal in my home studio.
