Light It Up Customizable Pad-Dividing LED Lights When the lights go down, the PRO lights up. Customizable pad-dividing LED and trigger lights let you see all nine pads on dark stages—goodbye gaffer tape! Assign any vertical or horizontal light to one of ten preset colors or create and name your own. Group together kicks, snares, backing tracks, and clicks with their own assigned color. And set the horizontal pad lights to be on constantly, light only when a pad is struck, or flash dynamically with its assigned WAV. Ultra-Responsive Pads The SPD-SX PRO has nine super-durable pads. Version 2.0 delivers a major feature expansion for the flagship sampling pad, giving performers greater control, deeper flexibility, and faster workflows in both live and studio situations. KEY NEW FEATURES SPD-SX BACKUP LOAD FUNCTION DJ DROP MUTE SPD-SX PRO Version 2.0 delivers the most substantial firmware update since the product’s launch in 2022. With the Version 2.0 software update, the SPD-SX PRO can now load backup files from the previous SPD-SX. Currently, this is a key purchase barrier for existing customers because they must manually upload individual sounds one by one, a potentially time-consuming process. The DJ Drop Mute function enables additional crossover opportunities in both live production and performance. It allows users to play a continuous backing track and, using a pad of their choice, temporarily mute it to all outputs while it plays in the background. TIME STRETCH / TEMPO SYNC This technique is commonly used by DJs to create ad-lib sections during live performance. DJ Drop Mute gives SPD-SX PRO users the power to embellish and improvise new sections into a track in real-time, taking improvisation to a new level. Time Stretch is a tempo manipulation function that allows users to change the speed of an existing sample without altering its pitch. TRIGGER MUTE This major release focuses on two core areas enhanced workflow efficiency and expanded creative control each introducing a range of powerful new features designed to elevate performance and customization. IMPROVED WORKFLOW STRUCTURE SPD-SX PRO Version 2.0 contains significant improvements to the product’s workflow structure. These provide a simplified upgrade path and improvements to speed up menu access. 2.0 also gives more kit patch detail and adds flexibility to incorporate the SPD-SX PRO into different environments. EXPANDED CREATIVE CONTROL The Version 2.0 update includes many new creative features, giving drummers more control to improvise and create without overcomplicating. These new features unlock opportunities previously only accessible to the professional market or through external DAW integration. Version 2.0 represents a significant improvement over the existing SPD-SX PRO software. Time Stretch is widely adopted across DAWs, letting producers easily adjust the tempo of a loop to match the track they are working on. Time stretch is now added for SPD-SX PRO customers in both real-time and offline settings. MASTER FX PER-KIT FUNCTION With the Version 2.0 update, users can set Master FX by kit. This allows drummers to use the control wheels on the front of the SPD-SX PRO to control different FX individually per kit, rather than using a single overall master FX. This expands choice and improvisation options. Trigger Mute allows users to assign a pad on the SPD-SX PRO to temporarily mute/switch off external triggers attached to the kit. This means that you can turn off the trigger sounds on your acoustic drum kit only during specific sections of a track or performance. ADDITIONAL IMPROVEMENTS In addition, powerful features have been added, including the KIT LIST display, MIDI monitoring on the main screen, an enhanced COPY function, the SET ALL function for assigning the same parameter to all pads at once, and the ability to display user‑imported images on the KIT screen (when PAD VIEW is set to OFF). PANEL LED BRIGHTNESS CONTROL Dim the PANEL LEDs to blend in during a theater production or boost the brightness when playing outdoors for increased visibility.
