Bajo eléctrico de 4 cuerdas sin trastes attributes

Squier is a subsidiary of Fender, known for producing more affordable versions of Fender's iconic electric guitars and basses. These instruments are designed to offer the Fender experience at a lower price point, making them popular choices for beginners and budget-conscious musicians. Squier guitars maintain the classic Fender design and are recognized for their value and quality.

Ich bin eigentlich kein Bassist, sondern in erster Linie Gitarrist und Piano-Spieler, aber ich habe vor vielen Jahren mal kurz Bass in einer Band gespielt und will jetzt wieder ein wenig Bass spielen. Ich besitze schon einen einen erst kürzlich erworbenen Fender Player Precision Bass und war erstens neugierig wie sich der andere Fender-Klassiker, der Jazz-Bass, im Vergleich zum Precision anfühlt, und wollte auch mal einen Fretless-Bass haben. Mit diesem Bass konnte ich daher zwei Fliegen mit einer Klappe schlagen, und dies für sehr wenig Geld.

Da ich wie gesagt kein Bassist bin und zudem Null Erfahrung mit fretless-Bässen habe kann ich zur Qualität und Bespielbarkeit kein qualifiziertes Urteil abgeben, wohl aber zur Hardware und dem Erscheinungsbild. Der Bass sieht wirklich super aus, richtig 'classy', und ist zudem absolut hochwertig verarbeitet was man bei diesem Preis nicht unbedingt erwarten würde.

In einem Punkt macht Squier sogar etwas klar besser als Fender: Die Schutzfolien sind nicht mit den Schrauben und Regler-Muttern verschraubt wie bei Fender (zumindest ist dies bei den Mexico-Fenders so), sondernt haben bei den Potis und den Schrauben kreisrunde Aussparungen so dass man die Folien leicht und ungehindert abziehen kann ohne vorher alle Schrauben und Potio-Muttern zu lösen wie man dies bei den Fender muss (was ich absolut hasse!). Um Welten besser so! Das war wirklich eine positive überraschung, denn es hat mich im Vorfeld schon wieder ange****t alle Schrauben und Muttern zu läsen und die Folie mühsam abzuklauben. Da könnte Fender (Mexico) echt etwas von Squier Indonesia lernen.

Etwas doof ist die asymetrische Korpusform (ist halt so bei Fender Jazz-Bässen). Mir ist der Bass deshalb mehrere Male vom Stativ gefallen (Stativ ohne Halsstütze) und berührt bei den K&amp;M-Multistativen beinhahe den Boden. Ich habe mir alleine für diesen Bass jetzt noch ein K&amp;M-Hängestativ gekauft. Da hat sich Fender irgendwie nicht viel überlegt seinerzeit. Aber ist halt Historie und muss bei einem Jazz-Bass halt so sein.

Bei den Saiten denke ich dass man -  zumindest wenn man viele Slides macht - wohl früher oder später einen Saitenwechsel auf flat-wound-Strings machen wird da die Rumrutscherei bei den standardmässigen round-wound-Saiten einfach zuviel Reibung erzeugt und die Fungerkuppen abwetzt. Ein guter Flat-Wound-Saitensatz kostet dann aber gut und gerne nochmals 50 Franken, was mal also ev, auch noch mit einrechnen sollte beim Kauf.

J-Bass und Fretless in einem Bass vereint

Ich wagte mich nach nun nach 12 Jahren Ibanez einen Schritt näher in Richtung Fender. Bis jetzt habe ich diesen Schritt nicht bereut, im Gegenteil, ich bin völlig begeistert von meinem neuen Bass. 

Viel Fender für einen relativ kleinen Preis

Ich hätte echt nie ahnen können, dass dieses Squirer Jazz-Bass-Modell eine echte Sensation ist. Ausgehend von der Verarbeitungsqualität, perfekt ausbalancierter, wunderbarer Hals und Vintage Pickup/ Elektronik sind Poesie. Ich übertreibe nicht, wenn ich sage, dass dieser Bass meine anderen 3 Bässe Gibson EB3, Fender Precissio und Rickenbaker in den Schatten gestellt hat. Dies ist ein wunderbares Instrument auch für Jazz, mit einem 'bundlosen Ton', wie ein Kontrabass. Perfekt!
