Great response! Very adjustable and easily so. It does NOT come with a drum key though! Make sure you order one if this will be your first pedal, as you won't be able to secure the beater without one. Does come with a nice carrying case. Staying true to Yamaha hardware tradition, the construction is solid and will last you a long long time.

Contrary to some reviews you may find online, the narrow part of the footboard does not affect play at all. Your mileage may vary, but even playing barefoot and trying to make it unstable it plays reliably.

Overall, a work horse that will always be there for you, and fairly priced!

Yamaha 9500

The new 9500 series pedals are available as a Single Pedal or Double pedal and either a double chain version or a direct drive version for 2 distinctly different feels. In the instance of the double chain version this can also be modified into a belt drive which is also included. Both pedals feature a new beater design which offers a choice between felt and plastic surfaces whilst they also feature a new narrow under plate to allow for easier set up, especially when placing the slave unit on a double pedal next to hi hat stands.
