This is the case with video recordings where the sound source should be recorded without any ambient noise. The pronounced directivity reduces the risk of feedback when used on lecterns or in theater sound systems. The microphones are extremely light, robust and handy and therefore ideal for attaching to television and film cameras or camcorders. When used with a microphone boom or as a handheld microphone, they are suitable for outdoor use as well as in the studio. Due to its construction and a built-in active filter, the MCE 86 II is insensitive to wind influences and structure-borne noise caused by zoom motors. The result is an impressively precise reproduction of every sound source. The new scratch-resistant plastic coating is non-reflective and effectively suppresses handling noise. The MCE 86 II can be operated on any phantom-powered, balanced input. If phantom power is not available, we recommend using the MCE 86 S II. This microphone can also be powered by the built-in 1.5 V battery. All MCE 86 II have a precise, electronically balanced output, which also enables operation on long cables. Even when connected to consumer devices with unbalanced inputs, you get perfect results without any interference. The MCE 86 S II has an off switch and a control LED for the battery status. Typical battery life is 80 hours. Two different elastic suspensions are available for the microphones. The EA 86 can be attached directly to the camera's hot shoe. In addition, there is a 3/8" threaded socket on the underside for tripods or microphone fishing rods as well as an adapter for a photo thread. The hot shoe adapter BS 86 allows optimal positioning on the camera. The EA 19/25 is supplied in conjunction with the MKV 11 microphone clamp and allows attachment to normal tripods or fishing rods with a 3/8" thread.
