This is a great multi-effects unit if you are looking for something portable with good sound. Better and more flexible than Mooer units. Definitely not a Helix in terms of versatility, but is also simpler to operate and easier to get a sound that I like without a lot of tinkering - the touch screen is nice. Pretty good sound straight out of the box without additional IRs - it already has Celestion IRs in it. Unless you are in the market for something in the professional tier, this can be used on its own or as one of the pedals on a pedal board.
Actually, I'm more of a purist, and I found that most electronic simulations were rarely truly satisfactory. However, the Hotone Ampero is a clear exception; the presets are often very close to the originals. The touchscreen interface works surprisingly well, but it's not ideal for use on stage (I find the three small knobs below the display somewhat awkwardly positioned when using the switches with my foot). However, when used in conjunction with the software on my Mac, all of this quickly becomes irrelevant. The setup is quite logical and functions like a chain of amplifiers and pedalboards. In my opinion, the simulations of the amplifiers and speakers are quite authentic (although not all of them). I mainly use the Ampero in my home studio, and it's perfectly suited for that purpose. I highly recommend it for home use!
