The Tone City Angel Wing is an all analog chorus effects pedal based on BBD chips. The warm, smooth effect won't change the tone of your original signal and the pedal works equally well with all different types of guitars, pickups and electronics. Higher Rate and Depth settings will create vintage Vibe tones.

Easy to operate and straight to the point. Sounds good, especially taking its price point into account. The only con, in my opinion, is the lack of stereo output.

I was looking for a chorus that could be easily plugged in and used immediately. I had listened to dozens of different chorus pedals, and in the end, the Angel Wing and the Ce-5 from Japan (I want to emphasize that I was looking for a subtle tone shaper, not a flashy chorus effect – it doesn't necessarily need to sound like a chorus, but you immediately notice its absence when you turn it off) stood out. The two pedals sound very similar: they are dynamic, transparent (meaning they don't create any annoying tonal changes), and simply "lush." The Ce-5 has more features, but I don't need them. Price and size were the deciding factors, and I'm now very happy with my purchase. I've even gotten used to the very small controls. Unfortunately, the Angel Wing doesn't take batteries (unlike the Ce-5), but that's not a problem if you buy a small pedal. The most important thing is that the small Angel Wing doesn't need to hide its sound behind much more expensive pedals. It's simply excellent. It may not have many features, but it does them well.

Wanted - Found

Gesucht war ein Chorus zum schnell einstöpseln und los gehts. Ich hatte mich durch Dutzende Pedale durchgehört und am Schluss blieben Angel Wing und der Ce-5 aus Japan (hier muss gesagt werden: ich suchte keinen wabberwabber Chorus sondern einen dezenten Tonverbreiterer - muss man nicht unbedingt als Chorus raushören, aber man vermisst ihn sofort, wenn man ihn ausschaltet). Klanglich geben sich die beiden nix: dynamisch, transparent (d.h. keine nervende Tonveränderung) und einfach nur 'lush'. Der Ce-5 hat durchaus mehr Möglichkeiten, brauche ich aber nicht. Preis und Grösse waren am Schluss ausschlaggebend und ich bin nur noch happy. Sogar mit den sehr kleinen Reglern hab' ich mich angefreundet. Leider passt - im Gegensatz zum Ce-5 - keine Batterie rein; weiss man aber, wenn man ein Minipedal kauft. Das wichtigste: der kleine Angel Wing braucht sich soundmässig NULL vor deutlich teureren Kisten verstecken. Einfach nur erste Sahne. Kann nicht viel, aber das richtig.

gesucht - gefunden

Sehr angenehm, weich und sphärig-breit klingender Chorus - genau, was ich gesucht habe. Die Potis für Depth und Level sind bauartbedingt sehr klein, aber wenn der passende Sound gefunden ist, müssen diese (zumindest in meinem Fall) nicht ständig nachgeregelt werden. Klare Empfehlung.
