Active DI Box with integral phantom & Battery
The BSS AR-133 (as well as its predecessor, the AR-116) has become a classic among active DI boxes. The input is both unbalanced phone jack, and XLR jack a jack through output run with. About the PAD switch is not only an input attenuation of 20 or 40 dB switched but also changes the input impedance: while in the 0 dB position 1 Mohm problem-free and low-loss connection also allows high-impedance guitar and bass pickups, the impedance at - 20 and -40 dB 47 kOhm. I particularly appreciate that the boxes can be powered from the control panel using phantom power. This provides security regarding operating time. The very robust construction also completes the picture.
I need this DI box to connect my bass amp. My old amp doesn't have a DI output, so I connect one of the amp's speaker outputs to the DI box, and then connect the other speaker output directly to the DI box. However, not all DI boxes are designed this way. This allows me to get the full sound of the amp into the DI signal. The box is sturdy, easy to use, and the sound quality is excellent...
