The vintage 60's Fuzzface (no relation to any currently marketed likeness) is one of the most iconic pedals ever!
Hendrix made 'em famous, and I love them for their ability to garner clean sounds, as well as sizzly leads.
The 69 pedal was my very first release, it came out in 1993 and went on to sell 3500 or so units until lack-of-suitable transistors forced its retirement in 2007.
During its life I added some cool features like a variable input level control and a "Contour" control, which gains-up the pedal in Mid frequencies, and an internal trimmer to Bias one of the transistors, allowing you to tailor the sound AND feel of the pedal.
Recently I have patched things up with the transistor company that made my germaniums during the heyday of the 69 pedal (1994-1997)
and can now get perfect germanium transistor matched pairs (same as used in the 1994-1997 69's) allowing for the reintroduction of the 69pedal as the 69 mkII.
The mkII has been redesigned into a small box ala OCD,FatBoost3, etc. with a few cool added features:
This is how you wished your Fuzzface sounded...Fat and Harmonic. And it cleans up like a vintage Fender amp when you turn down your guitar's volume control. The Rolling Stones and the Black Crowes have discovered this trick.
If you love the first 2 Hendrix releases then you'll love this pedal, with 2 Germanium transistors hand-picked and tested for optimum performance. A Contour Knob lets you dial in Midrange, Harmonics and Sustain, also an "Input " knob that takes out the "woofiness" and gives great Overdrive/Distortion sounds when its level is reduced. An internal "Bias" Trimmer allows for adjustment of Clipping Symmetry, Harmonics, and Tracking.
Specifications subject to change at any given moment due to availability and due to whimsy.
True-Bypass w/LED is standard equipment to preserve tone when the pedal is off!
