The Pentatone Gate is a standalone version of the GATE section in the Ibanez Pentatone Preamp.
Furthermore, thanks to the 4 I/O jacks, the gate circuitry can work at a proper location, such as right after distortion pedals or in between the send/return of a guitar amplifier.

the way the noise gate operates is by only going 'on' is when it detects a guitar signal; the guitar signal and the gated signal are separated from each other (2 inputs and 2 outputs), the gate therefore gets a really clean signal to trigger the gate. This results in a gate which knows when it needs to work or when to let the signal go through and will give you a much more natural sound in comparison with regular noise gates. it is simple to use and even if it would have been twice as expensive it would still have been excellent value for money
