SABIAN presented the Artisan Ride collection of the new Vault series at the Namm Show in Los Angeles. SABIAN itself describes the Artisan Rides as the ultimate traditional cymbals and once again underlines that the finest and best cymbals in the world are made in Meductic Canada. This exclusive quality is also reflected in the availability of the new Premium Rides, which can only be manufactured in small quantities. The Artisan Rides reflect the centuries-old cymbal forging tradition and the outstanding technique of high density hand hammering. Marc Love (SABIAN's head of product development) says about the new exceptional cymbals: With the Artisan Rides we have designed cymbals that meet the wishes of many generations of drummers. They have a glassy and precisely defined stick sound as well as an aggressive yet warm and dark undertone. The assertive crest sounds and the breathtaking dynamic behavior when crashing are outstanding. The mixture of these components makes up the magnificent overall sound. High Density Hand Hammering is the key to success. This traditional and very labor-intensive form of cymbal hammering determines the extraordinary tonal spectrum of the sound by extremely increasing the number of hammer hits. The direct feel and response of the bronze alloy is therefore unique. Marc Love also adds: Manufacturing the new rides requires an exceptionally high level of precision and experience at every step of production and involves many subtleties of cymbal forging that have been forgotten even by most traditional cymbal manufacturers. These roots of cymbal manufacturing in combination with SABIAN's high quality standards are the secret. Our B20 Bronze mixture, which is now over 400 years old, and pure hand hammering produce the incomparable sound. Because no machine can create this individuality that we hammer into each Artisan by hand. The Artisan Rides can rightly be described as exclusive luxury cymbals, because each one is an expression of individuality and shows the signature of the cymbal smith. Creating these rides is extremely time-consuming and requires years of experience. Therefore, only a limited number of pools can be manufactured per year. The Artisan Rides are available in 20" and 22" sizes as well as in light and medium versions. The Light Ride produces a dark, defined stick sound with a broad basic sound, whereas the Medium variant has a crisper stick sound and a more compressed basic sound. Natural and Brilliant finishes are available.
