Der Neo Clone ist der kleine Bruder des Small Clone, der legendär, aber auch ziemlich wuchtig ist. Der Neo Clone ist in mittleren Einstellungen klanglich aus meiner Sicht fast nicht vom Original zu unterscheiden. Ich finde ihn warm und voll, wie man es wahrscheinlich nur analog hinbekommt. Dafür muss man einen gelegentlichen Einschaltknackser in Kauf nehmen. Die Bedienung ist simpel: Für die Depth gibt es einen Schalter mit nur zwei Stellungen, für die Rate einen Drehregler von sehr langsam, phaserartig, bis sehr schnell, vibratoartig. Den schönsten Choruseffekt gibt es bei geringer Tiefe und mittlerer Rate oder hoher Tiefe und geringer Rate. Wenn man es genau so mag, unbedingte Kaufempfehlung.

Beim Chorus-Effekt, biegt der Neo Clone die Frequenz leicht von der Eingangsquelle ab und mischt sie. Die Kombination ergibt eine Verdoppelungseffekt und erzeugt eine sinnliche Klangtektonik mit viel Tiefe. Nicole Fiorentino von den Smashing Pumpkins auf 'Oceania' verwendet diesen Effekt und ich jetzt auch! Das Electro Harmonix Neo Clone Analog Chorus Pedal wurde mit dem Gitarre World's Gold Award ausgezeichnet und ist auch für Keyboards und Synths einfach nur 'geil'. Descendante directe de la Small Clone, elle a une sonorité très semblable à celle ci, mais elle est un peu moins stable. Il m'arrive d'avoir du larsen si j'active ma Fuzz Factory. Son format est top pour les pedalboard assez 'dense'.
