Meine Tele stand seit zwei Jahren mehr oder weniger ungenutzt herum, weil sie in Kombination mit dem Fender 65 Princeton Reverb bei höheren Lautstärken schrill wurde und im Bandkontext (Classic Rock) nicht zu gebrauchen war. Da inzwischen eigentlich nur noch Rock auf dem Programm steht, habe ich die Tele mit diesen Pickups ausgestattet:

Damit sind erstens die teils heftigen Störgeräusche der Single Coils verschwunden und zweitens schiebt die Tele bei Zerrsounds deutlich druckvoller durch unser Repertoire. Das Gemecker meiner Bandkollegen ist jedenfalls einem Grinsen gewichen und auch ich finde, dass diese Kombi für Rockmusik richtig gute Laune verbreitet. Für Rocker eine deutliche Aufwertung, aber man muss sich bewusst sein, dass der typische, glockige Telesound weg ist. Es kommt, wie immer, auf die Frage an, was man möchte.

Es gäbe noch die Möglichkeit, die Humbucker mittels Toggle-Switch zu splitten, was vielleicht auch typischere Single Coils Sounds ermöglichen würde. Habe ich aber nicht ausprobiert, da zu faul.

Fender Player Telecaster

Irgendwo zwischen P90 und Humbucker angesiedelt. Sehr cool, passt vor allem für Classic Rock sounds.
