Laney was founded in 1967 by Lyndon Laney near Birmingham. He had played in a band together with Robert Plant & John Bonham. At that time, there were no amplifiers that were loud enough, so Lyndon decided to develop and build his own amplifiers. Word quickly spread and demand was high. This was the beginning of Laney Amplification.
The Black Country Custom Amps (BCC) are designed and manufactured in the U.K. in the "Black Country" region near Birmingham, just as they were back then. Laney is still a family-run company which is managed by James Laney.

mon premier ampli Line6 Spider, trop d options pour moi  je passais plus de temps à jouer avec les config que sur ma guitare
Je suis revenu à un ampli plus basique, Orange Crush 35RT... cool en magasin je suis reparti directement avec le carton sous le bras :)   Mais moins  à la maison, après 1 an d'utilisation j'était un peu décu du son je ne trouvais pas le son chaleureux que je voulais au final et j'avais toujours un souffle à bas volume... 

Ensuite je suis tombé par hasard sur un magasin exposant le Laney LA-Studio.. j'ai adoré tout de suite le son , le look mais pas de bouclde d'effet. Alors je suis rentré j'ai cherché un moment et je ne peux que confirmer ce qui a déjà été écrit dans le commentaire précédent...   

Ravis du son

Je voulais un tête tout lampes, pas trop puissant (petit local ou studio), pas grosses, pas trop lourde, peu de lampe mais un très bon son, pas trop chère et pas chinoise. Quasi pas possible à trouver, on pourrait penser. Eh bien c'est faux, j'ai trouvé après de nombreuses recherches, écoutes et lectures. Il y en a 1 seul qui correspond à tous ces critère, et en plus il est d'un prix plutôt raisonnable !
C'est le LANEY Lionheart L5 Studio, 4 lampes pour 5 watts en Class A Single Ended ! Et conçu et fabriqué à la main en Angleterre, je vous prie (en tous cas celui que j'ai c'est le cas).
Il y a une lampes de puissance EL84 (je la préfère à la EL34) et 3 lampes de pré-ampli 12AX7, toutes de qualité. Le nécessaire pour trouver un très bon son selon moi.
Et pour environ 700.- c'est vraiment difficile à battre, mais aussi difficile de s'en priver si c'est ce que l'on cherche.

Très bien équipé en matière de contrôle du son, avec une très bonne Reverb genre entre le Spring et le Hall.
Sur l'arrière, c'est étonnant de possibilité : 2 sortie pour HP, une de 0.5 w et une de 5 w - 1 boucle Send/Return avec un switch 3 positions - 1 entrés Remote (pédale sélection du canal) - 1 entrée Aux In - 1 sortie Phone (casque) - 1 switch Source: USB/Amp - 1 sortie RE-AMP SEND - 1 connecteur USB avec un bouton de réglage DRY RECORD GAIN - 1 sortie D.I. avec 1 switch pour émulation de Box On-Off ! N'en rajoutez plus, il n'y aurait pas la place !

Plus complet sur les 2 faces c'est pas courant, voire jamais vu. En fait probablement le seul ampli à lampes pouvant être utilisé comme interface musicale sur ordi.
Et mis à part le look 'blue' superbe (question de goût bien sûr), la qualité de construction est au rendez-vous

Après divers essais, avec tous les cas de figures, avec des pédales de modulation dans la boucle, ou sans, avec entrée directe de la guitare, ou avec tout le pédalier en entrée, je n'ai jamais été déçu.
Le Clean est vraiment très beau, du vrai clean à lampes. Pour le Crunch (Overdrive) c'est aussi très bon, typé anglais mais assez chaud et rond, j'aime beaucoup. Bien sûr tout dépend de la guitare, des micros de cette guitare, des pédales et autres, mais en général on sera toujours satisfait.

Perso ma guitare 'Humbucker', ou ma guitare P90, ou encore ma guitare Single sont toutes à l'aise avec cet ampli, petit et léger mais pas trop:
- 8.7 kg pour une dimension de 42 x 19 x 18.5 cm (LxHxP) Une jolie petite tête tout lampes de très bonne qualité.
Très recommandable pour ce prix et cette qualité.
