A three-piece maple neck with two graphite rods runs through the alder body of the American SL2. It extends the sustain and ensures stability. Nothing warps even in abrupt temperature changes or damp weather. The smooth ebony fingerboard is designed for lightning-fast, precise playability. It runs in a compound radius from 12" to 16", has gently rounded edges, 24 stainless steel jumbo frets and inverted mother-of-pearl inlays in a shark fin design. It is more curved at the saddle and makes it easier to play chords, and it becomes flatter towards the body - just right for fast-paced solos and excessive bending! Fluorescent Luminlay® side dots help with orientation even on pitch-black stages. The truss rod can be adjusted quickly and easily if necessary using the wheel on the base of the neck. The pickups are brutally powerful: an EMG® 81 and an EMG 85 humbucker give this guitar the power of a wrecking ball - but crystal clear and with a perfectly defined tone.
