Wenn man kein Sammler hübscher Bodentreter ist und trotzdem eine möglichst breite Palette an Effekten sein Eigen nennen möchte, dann ist das HX One eine echte Schatzkiste. Gerade für Soundtüftler und Musikschaffende, die bei ihrer Arbeit nicht von A bis Z am Bildschirm kleben möchten, ist das schwarze, etwas hässliche Line6-Kistchen eine wahre Fundgrube.

Und oha – die Sounds klingen durchwegs ordentlich, stereo und fett. Selbst für mich, der früher digitalen Verzerrungen eher skeptisch gegenüberstand, ist alles dabei – und das sogar in wirklich toller Qualität. Modulationen, Delays, Hall und Räume gibt’s in Hülle und Fülle.

Negativ: Beim kleinen Display wurde etwas gespart, und mir fehlt eine Funktion, um Lieblingssounds zu markieren – ein kleines Sternchen oder Ähnliches wäre super. Diese stehen bei mir jetzt auf einem Zettel, denn ganz ehrlich: Bei gefühlt 1000 Effekten kann die Suche dauern.

Auch nervt mich, dass man anscheinend für Line6-Treter ein spezielles Line6-Expression-Pedal braucht – andere scheinen nicht zu funktionieren. Line6 eben. Die Firma war mir nie sonderlich sympathisch, und optisch gefällt mir ihre Hardware bis heute nicht besonders. Seit der roten „Niere“ hat sich da nicht viel getan.

Dafür (nochmal positiv) klingt das Zeug heute um Welten besser als damals – und ich bin froh, dass ich eine HX One-Effektschleuder in meinem heimischen Studio habe.

Die Effekte sind gut getroffen, Ihre Vorbilder stehen im Owner‘s Manual auf line6.com, es sind mehr als 250. Von Verzerrern über grafische und parametrische EQs, dutzende Chorusse, Flanger hin zu Phaser, Wahs, Filter, teils auch recht abgefahren, Reverbs und Delays kann jeder mit den eigenen Einstellungen abgespeichert und in einer beliebiger Anzahl Presets durchgeschaltet werden. Einer aufs Mal, top zur Integration in ein Effektboard, mit zusätzlichen Schalter und Expressionpedal ansteuerbar, auch per MIDI. Das Noisegate filtert Störgeräusche auch von vorgeschalteten Geräten weg, ohne eingeschalteten Effekt aber nur wenn man auf auf True Bypass verzichtet und das Signal permanent übers DSP laufen lässt (was ich nicht mache, aber für den Notfall habe). Funktioniert mit Gitarre, Bass und Keyboard, übrigens auch in stereo. Top Anschaffung.
